Tubular materials
TWB orbitals transfer the tailored principle to round parts. The difference is that
instead of flat blanks, starting materials such as tubes, bars, turned, deep-drawn
and extruded parts are used. But the advantages are the same: lower weight, lower
cost and optimized functionality.
Perfectly rounded
TWB Tailored Orbitals are welded tubular products made from tube with a
combination of different materials, thicknesses or coatings. They can therefore
be tailored exactly to your requirements. The properties of the tubes can be optimized
for either reduced weight or increased performance. In addition, a broad range of
variants can be made from standardized starting materials. This allows completely
new functions to be integrated into existing products, paving the way for a whole
new category of tubular parts.
Orbitals are currently used mainly in shock absorber components but applications
in engines, transmissions, clutches, steering, seating, exhaust systems and chassis are also
conceivable.
